Deacons
Deacons are responsible for ministering to the practical needs within the Church body. This includes meeting both the needs of members of the church body as well as the physical maintenance of the buildings and property. The newly formed Trustee group assist them in the area of the buildings and property.
Qualifications for Deacon are outlined primarily in Acts 6:1-6 and 1 Timothy 3:8-13
Cliff Simpson - Chairman of the Deacon Board
Cliff is currently the Chairman of our Deacon Board. He and his wife, Marty, have attended Twain Harte EFC since moving here in 1997, married 48 years, they are the parents of 2 daughters. As Chairman of the Deacon Board, Cliff is involved in overseeing all of our church business. He draws on his years of experience as an engineering manager with IBM. Cliff is a graduate of the University of Miami (Florida) and holds a degree in structural and architectural engineering. He serves one day each week at Interfaith, an organization of local churches seeking to meet the needs of our community. His wife, Marty, serves our church in music, at the piano. Since his retirement, Cliff is “happy to spend more time gardening and fishing up here in God’s country!”
Darrin Ray
Darrin has been a member of Twain Harte EFC for two years. He has been "crawling" through a seminary degree for the last three years. He is currently a stay-at-home Dad and enjoys working in various church ministries especially teaching Sunday school and working with Nursing Home ministry. Darrin also enjoys movies, historical fiction, and video games as well as hiking and spending time with his young daughter, wife and playing with his chocolate colored Cocker Spaniel - Scarlett.
Sam Glucklich
Sam & Miriam began attending Twain Harte EFC in 2004. Sam grew up in the Bay Area and Central California before moving to Minnesota during his college years. Miriam was born and raised in the mid-west. They were married in 2001 and now have three beautiful children: Megan (5), Molly (3), and Gideon (almost 1). They moved to California in 2001 where Sam is employed with the California Highway Patrol. Sam's interests include wood working, old trucks, and general up keep of the home (AKA: handyman). Miriam devotes a great deal of her time to training and homeschooling the children. Her other interests include quilting and scrap booking. They said, "We love the Lord and are blessed to be in fellowship with other believers locally and around the world".
