Interfaith is an interdenominational ministry to help the poor and hurting of our community. The ministry is lead by Mary Salvarezza, whoserves as their director. They have a board comprised of cooperating churches and volunteers. Their income is derived from the support oflocal churches and charitible groups. Their annual budget runs around $88,000 per year. Some of their ministries include:
Food Distribution - Clients can come twice a month to receive food from the food bank. Bags of food are prepared by volunteer workers that provide for a nutritious and balanced diet for those who come. Over 75,000 meals were provided last year to clients who came for help.
Clothing Distribution - Clients come to receive clothing to replace what is worn out or not appropriate for the climate of the year. Winter clothes are a lifesaver for many of the clients. Over 3,000 people were given clothing this last year
Household Supplies - Pots, pans, dishes, furniture, etc are given to those beginning to establish a household. 760 families were given items to help them with their living needs.
Hair Care and Showers - Clients can come for haircuts and shampoos. Others come for showers and clean clothes before applying for a job in the area.
Job Referrals - Each client is given a opportunity to fill out a job assessment form, which is used to assist them in finding a job in the area.
Housing - Temporary housing is provided for thoose who are transient and who have special needs. This is usually for one or two nights and then they are referred to some type of shelter or housing service in the area.
