We’d like to thank you dear brothers and sisters for your prayers for us and our ministry. God answered the prayers and this year we were able to have summer Christian camps again.
This year we had unusual problem of getting ready for the camps and raising funds for that. But our merciful Lord provided for all the needs. We had more children than last year. We had fewer problems with discipline, had no accidents and had a wonderful weather. You made a contribution to all that through your prayers.
Our church “Light of the Gospel” was responsible for the 4th shift of the camp. We had children from 13 to 17. This is the age when children learn to make decisions and choices and find their place under the sun. The program was especially developed to answer these needs. The leaders of the camp and counselors had to help the children understand their responsibility and accountability for their life before other people and the Lord.
We rejoiced as we could see the transformation in the lives of children which took place in one week, some of the rebellious young people became their counselor’s helpers.
We put an extra emphasis on worshiping the Lord. Every evening we had short services and children were actively involved in them. Music and songs are one of the ways of grasping their hearts and sharing with them the love of God. Children enjoyed learning the lyrics and sang the songs not only at the evening services but during the whole day. We believe that not a single day in this camp was wasted. Children learned about God during the Bible lessons. We taught them to apply biblical principles during the sport events and competitions. Many of them found new friends, and unbelievers met believers.
On our last night we had a camp fire and fire works. Every child had a balloon filled with helium with a candle attached. Then all of them let them go . It was a beautiful sight.
But this is not the end. We do our best to keep in touch with those who were in camp. There will be special events for them every month, celebrations and sport programs.
We ask you to continue to pray for us and this ministry. We began getting ready for our next summer already, think about the new program and raise the funds.
