Transition for the Ryles
The dictionary defines transition as 'the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another'. That one word and its definition describes our family over the past several months.
Over the last 10 months, we have transitioned to a larger family by adding Talitha to our family. Although the adoption is nowhere near being completed, she has lived with us since August 15, 2006 and is vital part of our family.
On June 9th, Jeremy graduated from Quisqueya Christian School. He is now transitioning back into life in the states. He is currently living and working in Delaware. He plans to attend college at Delaware Technical and Community College in August where he will study to be an Emergency Medical Technician.
Now we are beginning another new transition. During the last several months we have seen God preparing us for a transition from our overseas service with MAF back to life in the United States. As we have prayed and have sought Godly counsel, we realize that it won't be the easiest of transitions since we have lived and ministered overseas for the last 15 years but we are confident that this is where God is leading our family at this time. There are many factors that have weighed on this decision, not the least of which are the personal needs of our family. We have seen God guiding each step of the way as we have started preparing for this new transition.
Cheryl will be leaving Haiti on August 7, 2007 taking Matt and Meghan so they can start the school year on time in Delaware. Greg is going to stay in Haiti and continue as the MAF Haiti Director while waiting for Talitha's adoption to be completed. We anticipate that the adoption will be completed by December. Once the adoption is completed, Greg and Talitha will come to Delaware and join the rest of the family. We will then travel to MAF headquarters for our final debrief, medical visits, and saying our goodbyes. We will officially be with MAF on furlough for a few months after that before we officially finish our time of service with MAF.
We appreciate each one of you, our prayer and financial supporters! We would ask that you continue to pray and financially support our ministry as we go through these transitions. As the status of the adoption becomes clearer, we will be able to better communicate our plans and the anticipated date for our departure from MAF.
