Joe & Janu Samy
Pastor Joe Samy and his wife, Janu, are full time faith missionaries with Asian Indian Ministries, Inc, ministering to the Asian Indians in the Central California District of the Evangelical Free Church of America. Presently they are reaching out to the large group of Hindu and Muslim people in Ca. Through faithful visitation the Samys have initiated and established friendships which the Lord has used to open the harts and homes for Bible study, allowing them to witness to the Indian people about Jesus Christ. They rejoice as they have personally led over 70 of their own Indian people to the Lord. These new believers have obeyed the Lord in publicly proclaiming Him as their Savior through water baptism. They conduct weekly Hindi Bible studies rotating in different homes in Newark, Fremont, Union City, Hayward, Castro Valley, Oakland, San Mateo, San Bruno, Foster City, Daly City, Milpitas, Turlock and Modesto.
JOE - Joe was born in Fiji in a Hindi - believing home of Indian parents. Foreign missionaries brought the Word of God to him and he received Jesus Christ as Savior and Master in 1952. Later Joe attended Prairie Bible Institute in Alberta Canada, graduation in 1964. He was ordained by the EFC in 1969. Due to the 1987 military coup in Fiji, and the insuing racial problems, the Samys after serving the Lord faithfully for 23 years left Fije and came to California where they now serve the Lord in the Asian Indian Ministry.
JANU - Janu was also born in Fije and raised in an Asian Indian home in the Hindi faith. She accepted the Lord in 1961 and has served alongside Joe in their ministry. Their son Joel and Sheila serve the Lord in the Balkans and are based in Croatia. Their other son, Jonathan lives at home and is helpful to Joe and Samy in the ministry. Their daughter, Judy and husband, Larry live in Allandale, Mich.
